LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man faces charges after police say he was involved in a shooting at an apartment complex in south Louisville.
John Ater is charged with wanton endangerment. Police say Ater was present when an accomplice fired three shots into an apartment complex in the 800 block of Douglas Park.
According to a police report Ater gave a taped statement admitting that he went with the suspect Melchoir Nintise. Ater said he stood outside on the corner of the apartment building while Nintise fired shots. Ater said Nintise was allegedly mad at a resident for "causing trouble with his marriage."
The bullets entered two apartments, one of which had a woman and her infant child inside. No one was hurt.
