LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville day care owner is accused of receiving benefits from the state which she was not entitled to receive.
An arrest warrant states Dalephonia Booker failed to report she was the owner of Big Happy Family child care center between August 2011 and December 2012. The business had a total gross income of $592,470 during that time frame.
During the time period, Booker applied for and received food stamps and medicaid benefits for her household.
Documents say income was not reported on Booker's benefits applications and changes to her income were not reported to the state, as required.
Police said Booker's actions cost the state a total of $25,910.51.
