LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Several Kentucky cities are being recognized for going green.
Louisville was named the 25th "Greenest City in America" by the Environmental Protection Agency joining big cities like Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and San Francisco.
The EPA chose the rankings based on the number of ENERGY STAR certified buildings in each city. Louisville has 60 including the Ageon building downtown.
Elizabethtown was ranked number one on the list of greenest small cities. Owensboro, London, Bowling Green and Richmond also made the top ten on the small cities list.
