LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—One Louisville attraction wants to sell beer to bring in more money.
The Louisville Zoo wants to allow the sale of beer, but the details of it still have to be worked out.
Zoo spokeswoman Kyle Shepherd said the beer would probably be sold only at a concession area, with hard liquor still only available at special functions.
Sodexo currently runs the zoo’s concessions and gives the zoo 12 percent of the sales. Within a few weeks, Service Systems Associates will take over, giving the zoo 20 percent of the sales.
Shepherd said the zoo staff has the authority to allow alcohol sales on the premises.
