LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville star closer, Nick Burdi, and Kentucky's A.J. Reed were both taken in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft.
Burdi is a junior relief pitcher that has a fastball that has been clocked over 100mph. Burdi was taken 46th overall to the Minnesota Twins. Reed is the National Player of the Year and was selected 42nd overall by the Houston Astros.
Indiana's power hitting Kyle Schwarber was taken with the number four pick by the Chicago Cubs.
Louisville's Super Regional foe, Kennesaw State, had their catcher, Max Pentecost, selected 11th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays.
