LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – 25-year-old Joey Zeller died Monday morning after being in the hospital for more than a month.
He was a well-known local DJ and bouncer.
Zeller died just a few days before a benefit concert was to be held for him at Diamonds.
Zeller was in a medically induced coma after he crashed his car into a tree early Christmas morning.
Police say he spent the night out with friends and was headed to his grandparents’ house in Jeffersontown when his car veered off Routt Road and slammed into a tree.
The impact caused his car to burst into flames.
