(WHAS11) -- Do your children have trouble falling asleep at night? Parents of young children may want to keep a closer eye on what TV shows they watch, especially before bedtime.
A study published in the American Academy of Pediatrics shows a link between violent television and poor sleep. Researchers analyzed over 500 children between the ages of three and five-years-old.
The results showed that replacing violent content with kid-friendly shows helped them sleep better. Kids in the study who watched violent TV programs had a more difficult time falling asleep and waking up in the morning.
