LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – Each state has a designated Google E-City and Kentucky’s is Lexington.
Google says Lexington was picked for the online presence of businesses located there.
The internet search giant had an independent firm look at the online strength of local small businesses. The city with the highest scores in each state got the designation.
Lexington Mayor Jim Gray says the award just confirms that the city has a high level of digital innovation.
Indiana’s E-City is Zionsville, which is northwest of Indianapolis.
