(WHAS11) - Most of I-71 is back open for business Monday morning after being shut down entirely since Friday evening.
Northbound 71 is still reduced to one lane until May 26. The southbound lanes of I-71 are open at this time but the the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the right lane will close a couple of times this week. They have not specified any further at this time.
If you are traveling on I-71 northbound the on and off ramp for Zorn Avenue is open. Now the southbound I-71 off ramp at Zorn Avenue is open as well as the on ramp for now. The on ramp at Zorn Avenue on I-71 southbound will be closed one night this week and the cabinet has not specified when it will be closed either.
Traffic had been rerouted around the five and a half mile chunk of highway during the time of 71's closure. It was closed in order to complete some construction without any interference.
