LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a shooting on a TARC bus at Bardstown Road and Goldsmith Lane.

According to video captured by Sky11 the shooting took place on bus #2008.

The occurred at around 3 p.m. Monday. Police said the victim, described as a man in his late teens or early 20s, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said six to eight other people were on board the bus at the time of the shooting. One of the passengers frantically called her mother.

The driver of the bus went to the nearby Quality Inn hotel where he talked with police. A worker there just got off a TARC bus in the area about 10 minutes before the shooting happened.

“I saw all the people running out. It was pretty chaotic and then I realized at that time that somebody was shot on the bus,” said Richard Walton.

At this time police say they do not know if the victim and the suspect knew each other.

TARC did not have any comment on Monday regarding bus safety. They referred all comments to LMPD.

The police are asking for the public's assistance to help identify the following persons of interest. Click here to see some of the pictures police released.
