LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A coroner has identified the woman that was killed after she was hit while walking along River Road near  Mockingbird Valley Road Tuesday night.

The coroner identified the woman as 33-year-old Amanda Broughton. She died of multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at University of Louisville Hospital.

The accident happened right around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday

Police said a minivan was headed north when it struck Broughton.

No word on if she was walking on the road or on the side of the road but there are no sidewalks at that location and police said lighting is poor in the area.

"It is very dark in this area and there aren't many traffic lights, so, we don't know at this point if speed played a factor, but those are things we'll be looking at -- the lighting, if the woman was wearing dark clothing and how fast the van was going," LMPD public information officer Alicia Smiley said

At this time, police have not filed any charges against the driver of the minivan.
