LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)— A man is arrested after he allegedly shoplifted in front of a LMPD officer.

Monche Osborne, 19, was at Walmart at 7101 Cedar Springs Blvd. on Sunday when he was allegedly seen shoplifting by an LMPD officer and lost prevention, by sticking the item into his pants.

Police said Osborne attempted to flee by running to the other entrance of the store, pushing a loss prevention officer and a female shopper in his attempt to get out of the store.

Police said as Osborne pushed on the door to exit, the officer grabbed him, but he was able to get out of his grasp and continued running out of the store. While in the parking lot, the officer tased him, neither of the taser’s prongs made contact with the suspects skin.

Police said he had taken an Airsoft gun totaling $78.00, but had pitched the item as he fled and exited the store.

As the officer caught up to Osborne, police said he did not follow the officers instructions and continued to pull arms away, resisting arrest.

After securing Osborne, police said the officer found a large amount of marijuana in a plastic bag, and he also had several baggies and two smaller baggies of marijuana packaged for sale.

Osborne is charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest, fleeing from police, trafficking in marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.
