LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- An Indiana man is facing charges in Kentucky after police said he stole from a home where he was subcontracted to do work.
According to the warrant of arrest, 29-year-old Brian Leep of Scottsburg was performing work at a home on S. 6th Street in Louisville when he took jewelry that belonged to the homeowner.
The victim reported the crime to the company that contracted to job to Leep's company.
Through their investigation police determined Leep was the main suspect. When investigators questioned Leep they said he admitted to taking the jewelry and selling it to a jewelry store in Austin, Ind.
Police said Leep returned the money to the store and the jewelry was returned to the victim by the store.
Leep is charged with theft by unlawful taking.
