LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant stemming from an assault police said took place on Christmas Eve.

According to the arrest warrant, 18-year-old Robrico Taylor was near the intersection of National Turnpike and Outer Loop when he ran up on a woman's car and tried to kick in the windshield. When that didn't work, police said Taylor took out a knife, opened the driver's door, lunged at the victim and tried to stab her.

A passenger in the car tried to help the victim and was cut on his left hand. Police said the did not suffer any serious wounds, but did receive several small cuts to her head and left arm.

The driver was able to drive off but Taylor was still on the vehicle, police said. He fell off after about 150 feet and the victim returned home where she called police.

Police said Taylor is the victim's ex-boyfriend.

Taylor is charged with two counts of assault.
