LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is facing charges after he was accused of posing as a police officer while trying to steal a cart-full of items from Wal-Mart.
According to an arrest report, 24-year-old Taronn Conley walked into the store Sept. 10 with a holstered gun and badge attached to his belt. Police said Conley then proceeded to fill his cart with various items, and instead of paying for the items he walked past the checkout area to the exit.
Conley was stopped by two employees that asked to see his receipt. Police said Conley then put his hand on the holstered gun and said "I have your receipt." Employees allowed Conley to leave the store and he was arrested eight days later.
Conley is charged with impersonating a police officer and robbery.
