LMPD: Man facing arson charges after setting fire to girlfriend's car

According to the police report, Kenneth Dandridge intentionally set fire to his girlfriend's car in the 700 block of South Shelby Street. He is facing second-degree arson charges.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man is facing charges after police say he intentionally set fire to a vehicle.

According to the police report, Kenneth Dandridge intentionally set fire to his girlfriend's car in the 700 block of South Shelby Street.

The woman reportedly witnessed Dandridge leave his residence and return with a gas can. He then opened the hood of her car and poured the gas onto the engine and set it on fire.

The fire department was notified and Dandridge fled the scene.

When the fire department arrived, the fire had already been extinguished by neighbors and received minor damages to the engine compartment.

Dandridge is facing second degree arson charges.
