LMPD: Man charged with abuse after severely injuring infant son

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police have arrested a man accused of injuring his infant son.

Juan Lopez Rosales was taken into custody after police said he injured his son so severely, the infant is not expected to survive.

According to the arrest report, Lopez Rosales told police he found the boy on the couch shaking with his eyes rolled back in his head but later admitted to hitting the boy.

Police said Lopez Rosales hit the boy's head on a wall and the bathtub several days before his arrest.

The report also states Lopez Rosales took the boy to several treatment facilities but left when staff members began asking too many questions about the boy's injuries.

Police said the infant suffered a skull fracture and bleeding.

Lopez Rosales is charged with first degree criminal abuse.
