LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Metro Animal Services volunteer was suspended after she posted photos of dogs playing at the Manslick Facility.

Briana Holloway had been posting about the dogs on her personal Facebook page for several months leading up to the suspension.

One post wishes a pit bull, Big Red, to rest in peace after it was euthanized.

The videos often showed Holloway playing with the animals at the shelter.  She said she posted the videos and photos in effort to raise awareness of overpopulation and the fact that animals are being euthanized in Kentuckiana.

Metro Animal Services said Holloway was suspended for violating policy and would not go into specific details.  Officials said it was a personnel issue.

The officials also said they take exception to Holloway’s claim of not promoting pit bulls enough.  The officials said they invest more time and energy on tougher breeds to adopt.

Holloway will address
