PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (AP) -- A few days after an eastern Kentucky sheriff was charged with drunken driving, his son has been charged with public intoxication.
Prestonsburg Police Assistant Chief Bryan Hall told WYMT-TV that Jeffrey Blackburn was arrested on Wednesday after officers got a call reporting a reckless driver. Hall says officers investigating the complaint found the suspect's vehicle parked and its occupant inside a restaurant. He said Blackburn failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
The station reports the arrest comes less than a week after charges were filed in Powell County against Blackburn's father, Floyd County Sheriff John K. Blackburn.
It was unclear whether Blackburn had an attorney.
