FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) – Kentucky motorists will see a little more relief at the pump.
The state’s gas tax will drop by 1.5 cents per gallon starting New Year’s Day.
This decrease reflects a drop in the average wholesale price of fuel.
Because of this decline, the Kentucky Road Fund will see a loss of $45 million each year.
The Road Fund is the state’s source of revenue for building, improving and maintaining Kentucky roads and bridges.
