LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The man who was once the nation's youngest death row inmate has died, but Todd Ice, 47, died at a Missouri hospital on Thursday of an apparent heart attack.  Ice was sentenced to death at the age of 16 after he was convicted of murder for killing his 7-year-old neighbor in Powell County, Ky. in 1978.
In 1983 the Kentucky Supreme Court reversed his conviction and death sentence and he was retried in 1986.  After that trial, Ice was convicted of the lesser offense of manslaughter during extreme emotional disturbance.
