Ky. House takes up Jason Ellis bill, sets minimum sentence for killer

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) A bill has been filed in the Kentucky General Assembly in memory of murdered Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis.

This bill would make the minimum sentence life in prison for whoever is convicted of Ellis’ murder.

Rep. David Floyd is Bardstown introduced ‘The Officer Jason Ellis memorial Act” Tuesday.

Ellis was killed in May 2013 on his way home from work late at night.

House Bill 368 will be considered during the current session of the Ky. General Assembly.
