LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Kosair Children’s Hospital’s St. Matthew’s campus was full of smiles Monday when they were presented with a check from the WHAS Crusade for Children.
The $970,000 donation along with a Crusade grant from last year helped fund the WHAS Crusade for Children Pediatric Unit.
The new expansion features 14 private rooms for children and their families.
This unit continues a decades-long partnership to help children with special needs.
“Here on this campus bringing increased access to pediatrics, we absolutely could not have done it without tremendous help of the WHAS Crusade for Children,” Charlotte Ipsan of Norton’s Women’s and Kosair Hospital St. Matthews said. “We’re so excited to be here today to dedicate this unit.”
This new unit will allow families an added measure of privacy as they deal with the medical issues facing their children.
