(ABC 22 News/YouTube)-- The problem child Son of Beast was demolished after less than 10 years in operation at Kings Island.
Demolition crews at the amusement park brought down the roller coaster that was once billed as the tallest and fastest wooden coaster in the world, and the only one with a loop.
An accident on the coaster in July 2006 sent more than two dozen riders to the hospital and the ride was redesigned following the accident, before being closed for good in 2009. A lawsuit was settled out of court in March 2011.
Son of Beast was removed to make room for future park expansion.
