Louisville, Ky., January 7, 2014 -- In response to the overwhelming number of applications being received, Kentucky Kingdom has temporarily suspended its online application process, so that management has time to evaluate the applications already submitted.
John Mulcahy, spokesperson for Kentucky Kingdom says “this past weekend’s Job Fair was a tremendous success. As of Monday night, we had over 7,000 applications, or said another way, that’s seven applicants for every available job. To be fair to all the applicants, we need time to evaluate each application we’ve already received, before we even consider additional applicants.”
Eryn Walker, Manager of Human Resources for Kentucky Kingdom says “beginning next week (January 13), we will start contacting every applicant using the e-mail address they provided in their application. We’ll proceed on a first-come, first-served basis. Each applicant will be notified of a specific day and time for follow-up interviews. Our goal is to contact and complete the interview process no later than mid-February.”
When asked about the importance Kentucky Kingdom is placing on its hiring, Mulcahy said “Our goal is to not only match candidates with the right department, but most important to recruit seasonal staff members who are the most courteous, enthusiastic and responsible. After all, nothing is more important than getting the right team members in place. Our top priority is to deliver a first-class guest experience for every family”
