LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The new Kentucky Kingdom has only been open for two weeks, but it is already gaining some national attention.
The amusement park hosted over 50 members of a German roller coaster enthusiast group on Tuesday.
The group called "Circle of Friends of Fun Fairs and Amusement Parks" is a non-profit organization founded in Hamburg, Germany 13 years ago.
The group organizes a number of meet-ups in various amusement parks throughout the year.
Those with the group got an exclusive ride on Lightning Run as well.
They will stop at 14 parks in 14 days.
Kentucky kingdom re-opened over Memorial Day weekend and saw over 35,000 visitors.
The park had been closed for five years after developer Ed Hart took over the project to renovate it.
