LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville is gearing up for the Kentucky Derby Festival and The Kentucky Center will take part in Thunder Over Louisville celebrations.
The Kentucky Center will have an expanded viewing area near the North Terrace of the Belvedere.
Family activities will include face-painting, storytelling, jewelry making and hip-hop dance classes to name a few.
Patrons looking to attend the event should know that chairs will be allowed but for outside use only. No coolers, outside food or drink will be allowed on the Kentucky Center’s premises.
The Center says alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage will be available for purchase in addition to an a la carte picnic menu.
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. and are limited. Prices are for $40 for adults and $20 for children.
Derby pins sold separately from the event will allow access to the Beer Garden, also located on the Belvedere.
