LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A parade of motorcycles rode from Logistics Drive to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium Sunday afternoon for the 30th annual Toys for Tots Run.
The event is hosted each year by the Kentucky Motorcycle Association.
About 4,000 riders attended the event and each with at least one toy in hand. The toys collected during this event will be given to the Marine Corps which then go to the Salvation Army to distribute toys to needy children across Kentuckiana.
“There’s so many needy people. The economy the way its been lately, there’s more people wanting toys and this is just our way of helping the community,” Fred Myers, Toys for Tots coordinator said.
If you missed the event, there are more than 200 businesses here in Louisville with Toys for Tots drop boxes.
Last year, Toys for Tots gave 65,000 toys to 22,000 children.
