LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)--As Kentuckiana residents prepare for yet another winter storm system, local businesses are cashing in on the demand.
St. Matthew's Hardware kept busy this afternoon, hauling in salt and snow melt by the crate.
As for the salt on the roads, Public Works says people won't see too much of it in advance because the rain in the forecast would wash it all away.
LG&E and Duke Energy say they've mobilized crews across Kentucky and Indiana.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has been monitoring the storm closely. Crews will be reporting for duty ahead of the storm and will be ready to go by 8 a.m. on Sunday.
According to a statement from Andrea Clifford, with KYTC, crews will work around the clock to ensure highways are in the best possible condition for drivers throughout the storm.
