LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -  It’s the grand opening of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in Pleasure Ridge Park on Dixie Highway Wednesday, but many people were there for more than just shopping, like Renee Baker of Fairdale who waited in line for four hours until the store opened at 9 a.m.

“I want to meet Kasey Kahne,” Baker said. “He’s my favorite NASCAR driver.”

But of course, there was plenty of shopping too.

President and CEO of Ollie’s, Mark Butler, boasts about the stores 50-70% shoppers can save on items.

“It’s incredible,” Butler said. “I say the same thing all the time, our business is booming. America always loved to bargain. Now, they need a bargain. That’s why people are waiting to get in this store.”

For Baker, she finally got to meet her favorite driver, who was there to promote the stores opening.

“I’ve been waiting six years to meet Kasey Kahne,” Baker said. “I’ve tried every race and no luck.”

“It’s good to see a nice group of people to support Ollie’s and want to stop and grab and autograph or picture,” NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne said. “It’s getting close to racing season and everybody is starting to get excited and everybody is getting ready to go racing.”
