LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Three people are in custody after police said they stole a Lexington police cruiser Thursday night.
Police said the cruiser was taken from the officer's home.
Kentucky State Police were notified and responded to a call when the cruiser was spotted on Interstate 64 east. Troopers caught up with the stolen cruiser on the interstate and police said they initiated emergency equipment in an effort to stop the cruiser, but the driver refused to stop.
After a pursuit lasting more than 20 miles, police said they deployed a tire deflation device near mile marker 53, rendering the cruiser inoperable.
Police said a male juvenile was driving and there were two female juvenile passengers. All three were arrested and charges are pending.
