'Jury duty' scam targeting elderly

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is warning citizens of a latest scam targeting the elderly.

Officials say scam artists are calling residents saying they’ve missed jury duty and a warrant has been issued for their arrest.

The caller then tells the person they can avoid being arrested if they’ve purchase a cash card.

If you believe you may have been a target of the scam call the sheriff's office at 574-5400.
