MADISON, Ind. (AP) -- A southern Indiana jury has acquitted a former high school band official of charges that he forced a student band member into a sex act.
A Jefferson County jury deliberated more than three hours Friday before finding 28-year-old Jacob Blanton not guilty of sexual misconduct with a minor.
A student who was 14 at the time alleged that Blanton forced her to perform a sex act on him in 2010. Blanton was assistant band director at Madison Consolidated High School at the time.
The Madison Courier reports defense attorney Robert Alden attacked the accuser's credibility during his closing arguments.
Several defense witnesses testified the girl is deceitful and cannot be trusted. One witness testified that the girl had told her she'd made the sex story up.
