Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - House Speaker John Boehner is creating a special committee to investigate the 2012 attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Libya.

He said the Obama administration misled Americans, creating emails released this week showing the administration withheld documents from congressional investigators.

Four Americans died in the September 11, 2012 attacks.

In the meantime, House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa has subpoenaed Secretary of State John Kerry to testify at a May 21 hearing.

The State Department has not yet responded.
