JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) – In the spirit of the holiday season, the community of Jeffersonville held a celebration of heritage for Kwanzaa.
The Jeffersonville Township Public Library featured arts and crafts, poetry and a drumming circle that people of all ages could enjoy.
Kwanzaa means the first fruits of harvest in Swahili. An estimated 20 million people around the world celebrate it.
The week-long holiday is meant to honor African history.
Kwanzaa is celebrated until January 1.
