JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) – Around 8 p.m. Friday, two armed robbers walked into Young’s corner store located in the 2100 block of Hamburg Pike.

Two men, dressed in black sweatshirts with their hoods up and faces covered, one pointed a gun at the lone store clerk who was working.

The owner of the store says they robbers got money out of the register and the safe in the back of the store.

They were able to escape on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

As the robbers were walking out, a customer was about to walk into the store.

One of the robbers opened fire in the direction of the customer but fortunately didn’t hit him.

The owner of the store says he’s been robbed at one of his other gas stations in Kentuckiana. He adds that he moved up here from Miami to avoid the violence but it’s quite evident these types of things can happen anywhere.

The owner adds that since the robbers covered their faces, they may never be brought to justice.

There have been no leads or arrests in this case.
