Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A petition was denied to remove an eastern Jefferson County home as an official historic place.

The home will stay a historic place and a $260 million tunnel will be planned for the Ohio River Bridges project.

The group Say No To Bridge Tolls is trying to remove the registration to lower the $4.1 billion cost of the project.

The group said they plan to appeal the decision.  A response is expected in September.
