COVINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – Jeff Ruby’s troubled floating restaurant in northern Kentucky will soon have a new home.
The restaurant, called Waterfront, broke free from its spot along the Ohio River on Thursday and drifted into the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge.
Waterfront has been closed since 2011 when it broke away with 120 people on board and hit the bridge.
Ruby says he’ll reopen the floating restaurant at a new location at Covington Landing in spring 2015.
He adds that it will better protect the restaurant from strong river currents.
