LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office has given the thumbs up to Metro Council to increase the city’s minimum wage.
Earlier this year, several members of the council asked for the county attorney’s direction in trying to determine if the council had the legal power to raise the minimum wage.
In the end, the decision was yes.
Sponsors of the draft ordinance said the minimum wage would increase to more than $10 per hour over two-year period.
The sponsors will soon introduce the ordinance.
