LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The mother-in-law of slain Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis confronted Senator Rand Paul on Wednesday’s visit to Bardstown.

No arrests have been made, and frustration is playing out in Bardstown.

"What are your plans, if any, to help us in getting more attention to this tragedy? He left two small children, one special needs, hardly any life insurance, would not be able to make it today," she said Wednesday.

Ellis was killed in May.  He was shot in an ambush while removing debris from the roadway.

Police have yet to make any arrests in the case and don't have any leads at this point.

Ellis left behind a wife, and two young children.
