Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Jefferson County Public Schools have made their decision and will be closed again Wednesday after accessing road conditions.

WHAS11 News talked to some people who say they can already tell how the roads will be and believe JCPS should be closed and make the call so they can plan childcare Wednesday.

All the school districts bus compounds have to be plowed and so do all the school parking lots before JCPS can have school Wednesday.

“We know already subdivisions that kids are going to have trouble standing in where the normal bus stops are so we know that neighborhoods right now nothing has been done to them probably will not have anything done to them,” says Rick Caple.

Jefferson County school leaders say they want to dispel a rumor about them making their decision about based on money.

If the district doesn't have classes for a snow day they don't get federal dollars for that day missed.

But they get the money at the end of the school year when they have to make up that day.

You just reported that students at JCPS would be in school on June 1. They only have three make up days thus far. The students' last day will be Friday, May 28. The teachers' last day will be Tuesday, June 1. (If they don't have any more snow days.) Please check the calendar: http://www.jefferson.k12.ky.us/Calendars/Calendar.html

There is a zero percent chance the roads will get any better between now and 4:30 A:M, more than likely worse and these folks are teaching my children, scary. It is just plain out right arrogance of "I'm in control" For the sake of my children I pray everyday my transfer out of this hell hole happens soon!!!

I agree with wmorgan (the school bus driver). The school system should include their input whether or not schools should be open. They are the ones who are responsible for our children until they get to school. See who gets sued if and when an accident happens (and possibly loose their job). All of the surrounding school systems have called off school. Not JCPS!!! If it's not money, then what is it? Some one from the JCPS really needs to address this and explain why they have to be last to make a decision. WHy would they not want ensure that our children are safe. Come on, get with the program JCPS!!!

Amazing. Once again they 'can't make a decision'. I suppose it's going to take one of our babies dying during one of their BAD decisions to finally put an end to this. We are just fortunate that hasn't happened...YET...and prayerful that it never will. JCPS? JCBS!!!!

I drive a school bus, and I really don't agree with the board who makes the decision if we have school or not. They tell us if the main roads are clear than we will have school. Forget the main roads, it's the neighborhood and back roads that we mainly drive on and they are the worst. Not only are they putting the children in danger but us drivers as well. I truely believe that if you have never driven a school bus loaded with kids, than you shouldn't have the job to make the decision to have school or not on such days like we are having right now.

This is why I am glad that I no longer live in Jefferson county. I live in Hardin county and even though the roads are plowed they have already canceled school due to the ice that will form tonight. JCPS needs to help out the parents by closing schools now so that they can get all the childcare and transportation lined up. if they get the money at the end of the year then why risk lives and just call it a snow day again?

Who are we kidding? The streets are not going to be fine tomorrow morning, 50/50? Really? More like an 80% chance of no school

How do they really expect parents with children to prepare, if they can't make a decision this evening. JCPS seems to be wishy washy on this issue. I just do not understand why a decision can't be made when the weather forcasters predict that the streets will be icy. We can't risk the lives of our children. Too many accidents happened the last snow day that involved a school bus (10) . Safety is always on my mind!
