LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- With kids back in school, lunches are going to be different. JCPS vows lunches served in schools are going to be healthier. JCPS is teaming up with local farmers to bring fresh local produce into your child's cafeteria.
School lunches also have to meet certain criteria for protein, fat and vitamins. JCPS Nutrition Services makes 62,000 lunches and 28,000 breakfasts each day beginning at 6 a.m.
The most popular menu items are the whole grain pizza, chicken nuggets, and tacos.
