New school year off to a smooth start for JCPS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) –  JCPS transportation officials said routes are ran smoothly on the first day back to class with no major incidences as 1,000 buses transport approximately 70,000 students to and from school.

JCPS chief operations officer Michael Raisor said some buses may run late Tuesday and he asks that parents be patient as drivers strive for accuracy.

The district has set up a bus hotline for parents. The number to call is 502-485-RIDE and 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. JCPS online bus finder, click here.
