LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Kentucky auditor is expected to unveil a review of Jefferson County Public Schools Wednesday morning.

Auditor Adam Edelen will release the findings of the performance review at 10 a.m. at the VanHoose Education Center.

The year-long audit, requested by superintendent Dr. Donna Hargens, has been the focus of Edelen’s office.

Sources tell WHAS11 there will be major findings in the audit focused on the district’s $1 billion budget and its financial operations.

Edelen says the audit was to ensure the district is operating to benefit the school system and the children.
