JCPS: 16 students injured after car runs red light, hits bus

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Sixteen JCPS students from Hawthorne Elementary School complained of minor injuries after the bus they were riding in was struck by a vehicle that ran a red light Monday morning.

Ben Jackey, a spokesman for JCPS, said that accident happened at the intersection of 22nd and Oak after 8:00 a.m. Monday.

Bus number 0155 was carrying 27 students and 16 complained of minor injures.  The bus was headed to Hawthorne Elementary School.

A car reportedly ran a red light and struck the front of the bus.
