PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) -- J.C. Penney plans to close its central Indiana distribution warehouse this fall. The retailer announced Monday the pending closure of the Plainfield warehouse and the elimination of about 230 workers. The company informed the state the first round of layoffs will be on September 8th.
