Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Is a senate campaign in the future for Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer?
The first-term mayor is running for re-election this fall, but he's addressing rumors that he might challenge U.S. Senator Rand Paul in 2016.
“I'm hearing all these rumors (about a potential run for senate). You've got to remember I'm the business mayor; I'm not a lifelong politician. I've got great energy being mayor of Louisville. I really enjoy it,” Fischer said.
WHAS11’s Joe Arnold asked Fischer about his previous run.
“Well, that's really how I got involved in public life. We've got a lot to do as Louisville mayor. I’m really not thinking about it very much to be honest with you,” Fischer said.
You can see the entire Greg Fischer interview, new interviews with the candidates in next year's governor's race and details on the ethics cases on “The Powers That Be” with Joe Arnold. It airs Saturday mornings at 9:30 right after Good Morning Kentuckiana Saturday.
