LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—Investors are planning on bringing professional soccer to the Derby City.

A news conference was held Monday to talk about the efforts to bring United Soccer League team to Louisville.

The team would play at Slugger Field, if all goes as planned, and investors released a proposed soccer configuration of what the experience would look like.

The city is also on board with the plans.

The investors would want to bring the Orlando City team to the bluegrass, a project that has been in the works for some time now.

Investors believe Louisville and southern Indiana are both large soccer communities and would support the league and team.
