POSEY COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) – A Wadesville, Indiana man was arrested and faces charges after Indiana State Police say erratic driving and his intoxication levels contributed to a crash.
According to the police report, officers said they noticed 27-year-old Rayne Bitter driving an all-terrain vehicle erratically at a high rate of speed near St. Wendel Road.
There, they say he attempted to make a left on St. Wendel Hills Road but lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll on its side.
Officers say Bitter and his passenger managed to crawl out of the vehicle where both were taken into custody.
Upon further investigation, officers detected odors of alcohol and noticed an opened beer bottle.
Police say Bitter had blood alcohol levels of .09.
Bitter was taken into custody and faces charges of resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated. His passenger was not arrested.
He is currently housed at the Posey County Jail.
