Indianapolis, Ind. (WHAS11)- A cheerleader became a hero over the weekend in Indianapolis.
A coach of the Indianapolis Tornados, a minor league football team, collapsed on the field during a game.
Jessica Anderson, part of the Syrens cheerleading squad, ran to his rescue.
Anderson, also an EMT and firefighter, gave the man CPR.
Reports say that the man collapsed from heat related injuries.
Cheerleading Coach Gina Fosso says Anderson saved his life.
The coach was rushed to the hospital after being revived.
"It's nice to get the reaction from the crowd and the players...it's really nice to have that," said Anderson.
Anderson says she thinks everyone should be CPR certified and is glad she was there to help the situation.
